eParty Unlimited improves conversion rates with video
09/02/2011
Party items supplier eParty Unlimited has revealed that the use of video on its website has boosted conversion rates.
Using video has proved to be a lucrative step for eParty Unlimited, with the company reporting a rise in conversion rates since introducing this interactive element to its site.
Speaking to Multichannel Merchant, president of the business Jimmy Weng explained that in the year since videos first appeared on its website, conversion rates have improved.
He noted that visitors who do not watch the videos have a conversion rate of 5.7 per cent, compared to a rate of 8.3 per cent for those who have viewed the product videos.
Because the interactive element has managed to improve conversion rates so substantially, Mr Weng stated that 98 per cent of eParty Unlimited's product pages now feature a video.
Last month, US golf equipment retailer Golfsmith.com revealed that introducing product demonstration videos to its website appeared to have a positive effect on conversion rates in a short space of time.
Senior online store manager Eric Mahlstadt added that the use of video is one way in which the firm aims to provide a "great customer experience" to online consumers.
