Web analytics spending 'to rise in 2011'

A new report has revealed that marketers are set to increase spending on web analytics and business analytics over the coming year.
Web analytics software is set to be one of the top investments for marketers this year, it has been claimed.
The Econsultancy annual Marketing Budgets 2011 report found that 45 per cent of those surveyed plan to increase spending on web analytics and business analytics tools.
According to the publication "this focus reflects the ongoing need to improve and measure the effectiveness of marketing channels and how they relate to each other".
In addition CRM, content management systems and email platforms are also set to receive higher levels of investment in 2011 than in the previous 12 months.
The survey also found that 72 per cent of those questioned are set to see marketing budgets rise when compared to last year.
Earlier this month, the CMO Council released research which showed that marketers are increasingly turning to web analytics and other tools to improve numerous aspects of online campaigns, such as access, delivery and relevancy.
