SuuntoWatches.com site redesign boosts conversion rates 22/02/2011 SunntoWatches.com has revealed that redesigning its website has resulted in a significant improvement in conversion rates.
The redesign of the SunntoWatches.com website using an open source ecommerce platform - Magento - has resulted in a rise in conversion rates.

Niche Retail owns the online retailer with president of the organisation Jeff Grice explaining that the alterations have quickly made a big impact.

"Our improved creative, user interface and presentation of Suunto products in a compelling manner coupled with the features of Magento has already produced a 20 per cent lift in conversion rates," Mr Grice stated.

SuuntoWatches.com is an authorised dealer for the specialist sports watch manufacturer, which produces timepieces and other instruments for sports such as scuba diving, mountaineering and sailing.

Among the most noticeable changes to the ecommerce platform are a streamlined checkout process, simplified top navigation and additional features to help accountholders manage their orders.

Earlier this month, Reid Greenberg, director of ecommerce and direct channels at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, told the Internet Retailer Web Design and Usability Conference 2011 that making minimal changes to its website helped to improve conversion rates.

Adding a security seal to the payments page was just one of the measures the company took and led to a four per cent rise in conversion rates.
