Online marketers 'need to consider web analytics in campaigns' 18/03/2011 Online marketers should make sure they take web analytics into account when planning campaigns, it has been claimed.
Web analytics should be a foremost consideration for online marketers planning any campaign, it has been stated.

In a post for Business 2 Community Marketing Insider, Bill Elward, an expert in online marketing, digital strategy and web analytics, explained that web analytics is "core and critical really to online marketing success".

He pointed out that this is driven by a need to prove the return on investment from any online campaigns.

Web analytics should form part of the campaign development process, Mr Elward added.

"It's critical that a constant cycle of optimisation is present throughout the campaign and that learnings from web analytics are used to make iterative improvements," he asserted.

Research released earlier this month by Econsultancy and Adestra revealed that the number of email marketers making use of web analytics has increased by 25 per cent since 2007.

The report also found that 22 per cent of respondents intend to make web analytics a "key area of focus" over the coming year.
