New tool integrated into Google Analytics

Pion Lite collects visitor data in a privacy-friendly way, helping to fill out Google Analytics reports.
A new tool has been integrated into Google Analytics that could help fill reports and offer users a better understanding of their visitors.
Pion Lite, a product created by Atomic Labs, collects traffic data and helps give more information about visitors, including those using mobile devices or accessing through RSS feeds.
For anyone worried about security considerations, it should be noted that visitor cookies and IP addresses are removed from the captured information.
Writing on the Google Analytics blog, Nick Mihailovski said: "This new, privacy-friendly approach to web analytics data capture gives marketers the information they need without the risk of privacy violations."
Getting Pion Lite started should be easy because of the setup wizard included in it while clients will be able to make use of the tool with advanced features of Google Analytics, including custom variables and campaign tracking.
Another feature of Google Analytics that was recently rolled out was Annotations, which allows users within an organisation to share notes on the over-time graph.
