New Google Analytics Management API launched
19/08/2010
New Google Analytics Management API will improve efficiency.
Web giant Google has released a preview of the new Google Analytics Management API, it has been revealed.
Details of the release were published on the search engine's analytics blogspot yesterday (August 18th), with the firm confirming that the new API had been created in direct response to consumer demands.
While the preview is available in read-only, the full version will offer users a faster, more powerful way to access Google Analytics account configuration data through the Data Export API.
The blog reveals that the changes are geared towards improving the efficiency and, ultimately, the usefulness of the web-based tool.
Central to this is the creation of five new Google Data Feeds that map directly to the Google Analytics data model.
It states: "Previously, the API returned all the configuration data at once, which in many cases was inefficient if you only needed a subset of data. Now with separate feeds, developers can request only the data they need."
