Google Analytics tips for landing pages
09/08/2010
Website owners can take advantage of Google Analytics to see how keywords are performing on their landing pages.
Google Analytics users have been given some tips on checking for the latest data on their landing pages.
In a post on the company's official blog, Alden DeSoto notes that, although website owners can check the web analytics information for each landing page, they often want to be able to have a quick look at keyword/landing page combinations in one report.
He points out that this can be done by going into the Keywords report under Traffic Sources and then utilising the Pivot view.
Here, once Landing Page has been selected from the menu, it is possible to see how many visits each page gets from a searched keyword.
Mr DeSoto adds: "The pivot view is also really useful for seeing at a glance how many visits you get from each keyword and search engine combination.
"To do this, you'd use the same Keywords report and pivot by Source."
While search engine optimisation is important, the information from Google Analytics for landing pages is also crucial to understanding conversion rates.
