Google Analytics pitched to small businesses 01/03/2010 Google Analytics is one of the tools that will be promoted to small businesses as part of a drive to get them online.
The number of Google Analytics users looks set to be boosted by a new initiative aimed at small businesses.

The 'Get British Business Online' scheme is being spearheaded by Google, giving small enterprises the opportunity to set up a website for free.

As well as being given a domain name and a template to get things started, the businesses are also being urged to take advantage of free tools such as Google Analytics to improve their websites.

Partnering Google are other organisations and companies such as BT, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and PayPal, all with the aim of "helping 100,000 UK organisations get their first website easily and for free by the end of 2010".

The promotion of Google Analytics as a tool shows how far the service has come and how its usage extends from large clients such as Twitter and LinkedIn right down to small businesses.

According to Backend Battles, an online technology monitoring service, almost 40 per cent of the top 10,000 most popular websites use Google Analytics.ADNFCR-2626-ID-19643341-ADNFCR
