Google Analytics advice from Bryan Eisenberg 17/02/2010 Recommendations from Eisenberg includes segmenting data and to always be testing.
Analytics and conversion expert Bryan Eisenberg has once again stressed the key points to remember when trying to use analytics to improve conversion.

In a video discussion with Dr Ralph Wilson, editor of Web Marketing Today, he explains some of the main pointers to making use of Google Analytics.

As the online marketing guru points out, it is no good using an analytics service but then not doing anything with it and his first piece of advice is to keep a prioritised to-do list, laying out what is and isn't working, and what to test on a month-to-month basis.

Another useful tip from Eisenberg is to use the advance segmentation tool on Google Analytics so that it is easier to compare different areas, including new visitors against repeat visitors.

Of course, beyond data, Eisenberg also stresses the importance of getting the views of people, adding that "opinions are like armpits".

The importance of using analytics was recently emphasised by Lucy Griffiths, writing for the Impact Media SEO Blog, in terms of finding out whether advertising spend is being converted into profits as the behaviour of visitors from different referrers can be compared.ADNFCR-2626-ID-19620055-ADNFCR
