Facebook changes 'will enable multivariate testing'

Changes to Facebook pages and the site's return to the use of iframes could enable businesses to optimise pages more effectively, it has been claimed.
The forthcoming changes to Facebook pages could prove beneficial to companies that want to optimise their content on the social networking site, it has been suggested.
Writing for Econsultancy, Matt Owen pointed out that the return to the use of iframes coding will enable businesses to "carry out far more effective and unobtrusive multivariate testing", as well as allowing firms to optimise more effectively for mobiles.
He stated that this is likely to lead to an increase in the number of organisations carrying out Facebook page optimisation in a bid to capture more fans or friends and improve conversion rates.
Mr Owen added that the new Facebook will deliver "increased commercial potential combined with a massive and highly engaged audience".
Last month, Michael Lazerow, chief executive officer of Buddy Media, told Advertising Age that there needs to be more specific web analytics tools for Facebook to enable marketers to find the balance between paid media and viral content.
