Expert reviews 'help improve conversion rates' 22/02/2011 Featuring expert reviews from trusted sources on ecommerce sites can help improve conversion rates, it has been claimed.
ICEcat NV, an international provider of product content, has teamed up with TestSeek - an expert review aggregator - in order to improve the level of product information available on ecommerce sites around the world.

Chief executive officer of ICEcat NV Martijn Hoogeveen commented that many of the company's partners expressed an interest in featuring reviews and product ratings on their sites because "it's helping consumers to decide what product to buy and thus improving conversion rates".

Fredrik Engdahl, chief executive officer of TestSeek, agrees. He stated that expert reviews can "convince a webshop visitor to push that buy button like nothing else".

The organisation collates product reviews from trusted publications around the world and provides the service in 25 languages.

Another way in which online retailers can improve conversion rates could be to ensure their website load times are fast.

At the recent Internet Retailer Web Design and Usability Conference 2011 Meir Tsinman, president of TheMedicalSupplyDepot.com, revealed that his company was able to improve conversion rates by 50 per cent by reducing page load times.
