DVD retailer sees website conversion rate increase by 17.6% 06/09/2010 DVD seller benefits from AB testing
An online DVD retailer has seen a 17.6 per cent boost in its online conversion rate following the use of AB testing.

iNetVideo.com ran a version of its website with heightened levels of security, enabling visitors to feel more comfortable with making a purchase on the site.

The safer webpage saw an increase in the number of visitors clicking through to purchase pages and completing transactions.

Alaa Hassan, general manager of iNetVideo, said that he had in the past suffered from people dismissing his site as too good to be true and that the added security had given it extra authenticity.

He said: "Because my prices are so low, sometimes shoppers don't believe I'm selling the real thing."

The boost in iNetVideo's website conversion rate was measured with a visitor base of 200,000, making the results statistically significant.
