Combining web analytics and user experience 'can increase conversion rates' 14/03/2011 Digital marketing efforts can be greatly improved by combining the disciplines of web analytics and user experience research, it has been claimed.
When used in conjunction with one another, web analytics and user experience research can prove to be a winning combination, it has been stated.

Speaking ahead of an interactive workshop entitled UX Research and Web Analytics: X-Ray Insights due to be held at South by South West Interactive (SXSW), Fred Beecher of Evantage Consulting explained that uniting the two disciplines will enable marketers to "build really persuasive arguments for change".

Among the benefits of taking this approach are improved conversion rates and reduced timeframes to carry out user research for a website.

"By closely collaborating, user experience and analytics experts can see the big picture and find out not just what is happening, but why. That means fewer incorrect assumptions," Mr Beecher stated.

SXSW is being held in Austin, Texas and is due to run until March 20th, with a focus on interactive content until March 15th. Topics relating to film and music will also be addressed at the conference.
