Alerts for Google Analytics highlighted
12/07/2010
The alerts in Intelligence within Google Analytics can keep website owners up to date.
Google Analytics users have been told of the value of automatic alerts within the service.
A post on the company's official blog highlights the automatic alerts in Intelligence, which are sent when unexpected results are seen in specific metrics.
For example, if bounce rates from Hong Kong suddenly double, then an alert would be sent so that the reason behind the change could be found out.
Alden DeSoto from the Google Analytics Team explained how the alerts can be useful to website owners and businesses.
Intelligence monitors the past and current activity of all your metrics and lets you know when something out of the ordinary happens," he said.
"One reason why these automatic alerts can provide so much insight is that they often bring your attention to traffic segments you might never have thought to examine before."
He also noted that advanced segments can be created from the alerts, meaning even more precise and relevant data can be captured.
The alerts would certainly be useful for anyone wishing to keep a close eye on conversion rates.
