Advertising professionals 'want more help with web analytics' 04/03/2011 A study of advertising professionals has revealed that many of them would like more assistance when it comes to web analytics.
A US survey of advertising professionals carried out by the Interactive Advertising Bureau has discovered that many working in the sector want more help when it comes to implementing simple tools, such as web analytics.

The organisation asked respondents to rate how comfortable they are with using a number of tools and data.

Web analytics was one of the areas where problems were most commonly reported, with 22 per cent stating that they are "unclear as to how to utilise server-side web analytics".

Meanwhile, 35 per cent admitted they were "uncomfortable" using sales and audience information from a third-party organisation to help optimise the performance of adverts.

However, more than 60 per cent of those questioned added that they would like more training for themselves or other workers in their firm.

Last month, Econsultancy published its annual Marketing Budgets 2011 report, which revealed that 45 per cent of those surveyed intend to increase spending on web analytics solutions over the course of 2011.
