26/08/2010
Third of technology executives do not know whether their firm uses web analytics.
Almost a third of technology executives are unaware of whether or not their organisation uses web analytics.
That is according to research from Deloitte, which further reveals that the same business professionals have no idea as to whether their firm has the capabilities to employ analytics.
The findings will come as a surprise to many, particularly giving the ever-increasing importance of the internet as a business medium.
Quite simply, 33 per cent of firms are missing the opportunity to increasing efficiency and profitability within their internet operations.
John Lucker, a principal with Deloitte Consulting, expressed his surprise at the findings.
He said: "Organizations have ever more depth and breadth of information readily available within their grasp, and the technology and methods to extract and help synthesize the data are well proven.
"When you see the low levels of adoption, you have to ask the question, 'Why aren't more companies doing it?'"
